Clinical Assistant Professor of Practice

Dr. Danna Lewis joined Southern Illinois University College of Business and Analytics in 2015. Before stepping into the classroom, Lewis served as Interim Assistant Dean of Student Services and the Director of the Business Placement Center for the College.

Dr. Lewis brings a variety of real-world experiences to the classroom and works to connect students to the College and Industry.

A native of Southern Illinois and a First-Generation College Student, Dr. Lewis earned her Ph.D. from Southern Illinois University in Education with an emphasis in Educational Administration and Higher Education. After completing her Bachelor's degree in Health Care Management from SIU, Lewis began her career serving students at Georgia Southern University. While working full-time, she enrolled in online classes to earn her Master's degree in Education. She is a lecturer in Saluki Success (UCOL 101), Open for Business (BUS 101), Business Career Transitions (BUS 202), and Business Communications (MGMT 202).

Danna is dedicated to student success, creating inclusive classrooms, and serving and supporting students as they advance in their education and excel in their careers.

Her research interests focus on resiliency, first-generation college students, online program design, workplace readiness, and student retention initiatives.
